6 Ways to Spice Up Your Sex Life

Sex isn’t the most important thing in a relationship, but that doesn’t mean it should be ignored. Far too many people fall into the stereotype that sex has to become less frequent over time. Or, you might feel like the “spark” is gone, so you’re not as intimate as you used to be.

That doesn’t have to be the case. Whether you’re in a new relationship and want to spice things up or you want to reignite that spark in a long-term relationship, there are plenty of things you can do to give your sex life a boost.

If you’re already reading this, you’ve taken an important step. Don’t let ideas of thinking or talking about sex be “taboo,” especially when you’re trying things with your partner. The more open you are with each other, the easier it will be to spice up your sex life. Let’s cover a few more ideas that can help

Increase Communication

Talking might not seem like a surefire way to spice things up in the bedroom, but it’s all about how you communicate.

Start with open, honest conversations about what you need and want in the bedroom. Sometimes, talking about those things with your partner will be enough to get you both excited to try them.

But don’t let it be a one-and-done conversation. Keep the spark alive by sending sexy texts to each other throughout the day, or try to be more intimate with your communication. Communication is the cornerstone of any healthy relationship, and it can surprisingly work wonders when it comes to a healthier sex life.

Try Different Locations

Has your sex life been limited to the bedroom?

There’s nothing wrong with that. It provides a safe, private, and comfortable place where you and your partner are willing to be vulnerable. But, if you both want to spice up your sex life, consider trying it in different places.

Book a hotel room for the weekend. Get together in a hot tub. Get steamy in the back of a car. These things don’t have to be fantasies — you can live them out and have fun doing them.

Change Positions

In addition to changing locations, you should also consider changing positions. This can be especially helpful if you’re in a long-term relationship and you’ve been doing things the same way for a while. Sometimes, a simple change in position can breathe new life into your intimacy.

Roleplay

It’s not always easy to step out of reality and pretend to be someone else. But it can also do a lot for your sex life if you and your partner are both on board.

Everyone has fantasies. While some are more realistic than others, there’s no reason why you can’t try to live some of them out with your partner. Talk about different scenarios you think you would enjoy. They can be as simple or as elaborate as you want. Don’t be afraid to experiment and have fun.

Toys

Toys allow you and your partner to explore pleasing each other in new ways.  These days you can order sex toys online, from the privacy of your own home. But why not make a trip to a sex store with your partner? It can be fun and take you out of your usual routine. It will also help build anticipation and excitement.. Mix Up Date Nights

If you’ve been in a relationship for a while, you might be missing the active sex life you used to have when you first started dating. If that’s the case, don’t hesitate to go back to that lifestyle!

Make time to date your partner at every stage of your relationship. Switch up what you do and where you go, and try new date ideas as often as possible. Doing so can put you back in that “new relationship” mindset and reignite a spark that makes you both remember what your sex life used to be like.

Spicing up your sex life doesn’t have to be complicated. Give these tips a try to switch things up. And have fun!
